Hamam Münstergasse
At the Hamam Münstergasse, guests can relax in a world that could have come straight out of “The Thousand and One Nights”.
The “Niederdörfli” quarter is full of hustle and bustle; passers-by push past one another in a hurry, while groups of tourists gather around the Grossmünster church or the historical guild houses to take photographs.
Thus already the reception area of the Hamam Münstergasse is a welcome oasis of tranquility. However, awaiting relaxation-seeking visitors one story below is a world that could easily have come straight out of the tales of “The Thousand and One Nights”. Oriental writing adorns the dark walls, and aromatic scents and hissing steam fill the small labyrinth, which can only be entered wearing a “pestemal” – a woven cloth that is artistically wound around the body. Down here, peace, warmth and relaxation are guaranteed. The pampering program is rounded off by an oil or lather massage.
And when, with beautifully scrubbed skin, you make your way back up to ground level and out onto the streets of the Old Town, you feel relaxed, revitalized and wonderfully content.
