Outstanding example of Swiss modernist architecture
The listed building from the 1930s is an outstanding example of Swiss modernist architecture and a real must-see for architecture enthusiasts.
At its location on Ausstellungsstrasse, the museum houses temporary exhibitions on the themes of design, visual communication, and architecture, as well as exhibitions comprising objects from its own collections. While the exhibition, “Collection Highlights”, presents design icons such as the Rex vegetable peeler, the Swiss Army Knife by Victorinox, and typefaces such as “Helvetica”, the “Ideal Living” collection features what at the time were considered to be perfect furnishing styles from various epochs from 1930 onwards. In addition, the Swiss Design Lounge and the museum café invite visitors to linger and relax.
The museum's second location is at the Toni-Areal.
